What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They hold a small amount of data, such as an identifier that lets a site recognise a returning browser. Similar technologies include pixels, scripts and your browser's local storage.

When cookies can identify a person, especially combined with other identifiers, they count as personal data under laws such as the GDPR, and our privacy policy applies to them.

Affiliate links and conversion tracking

  1. How affiliate tracking works

Some links to brokers are affiliate links. When you follow one, the broker's website may set its own cookies or use a referral code so it can tell that you came from FX Recap and pay us a commission if you open an account. That tracking happens on the broker's site, under the broker's cookie and privacy policies, and does not change the price or terms you get.

See our affiliate disclosure for how these relationships work.

How to control cookies

You can use every page and tool on FX Recap with non-essential cookies blocked.

  1. Cookie settings on FX Recap

If your device is set to a European time zone, a small notice in the corner of the page asks before any Google Analytics cookies are set, and analytics stays off until you choose “Accept”. Elsewhere, Google Analytics runs by default. Wherever you are, you can turn analytics off or on at any time: open cookie settings, or use the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

  2. Browser settings

Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, or delete them automatically when you close the browser. Look under Privacy or Site data in your browser's settings.

  3. Opt out of Google Analytics

Google offers a browser add-on that stops Google Analytics from collecting data on any website: Google Analytics opt-out.

  4. Personalised ads

Your browser's privacy settings and your phone's operating system (Apple or Google, in the Advertising section of privacy settings) let you limit personalised advertising based on your browsing.

  5. Clearing FX Recap's local storage

Clearing site data for fxrecap.com in your browser removes saved tool choices and course progress.

Updates to this policy

  1. Keeping this policy current

Cookie rules and the technologies behind them keep changing. We will update this policy when the services we use change, and note material changes on this page with a new date. Questions: info@fxrecap.com.
