RoboForex is an offshore broker with a $10 minimum deposit, raw-spread accounts, more than 12,000 instruments on its own platform and a built-in copy trading service. IC Markets is a raw-spread broker with ASIC and CySEC licences in its group, four platforms and no minimum deposit at its global company. The better fit depends on where you live, how often you trade and which company would hold your account.

A “winner” here means the better published figure on that one line. It is not a recommendation: the right broker depends on where you live and how you trade.

Regulation and Safety

RoboForex Ltd is registered with the FSC in Belize, an offshore regulator. It adds private protections: category A membership of The Financial Commission, whose Compensation Fund covers up to €20,000 per case, civil liability insurance of up to €2,500,000, and negative balance protection.

IC Markets’ group holds ASIC and CySEC licences plus offshore licences in Seychelles, the Bahamas and Kenya. International clients are served by its Seychelles company, where IC says client money is insured up to US$1,000,000. CySEC fined its EU company €250,000 in 2024, which the company has taken to judicial review.

On paper IC Markets has the stronger regulatory footprint, but that only helps if your account sits with one of its strictly regulated companies. Check which company your country places you with before you deposit.

Trading Costs

On commission-free accounts, RoboForex lists: Pro and ProCent from 1.3 pips. IC Markets lists: Standard from 0.8 pips. “From” figures are minimums, so expect wider live spreads, especially around news.

Both offer a raw-spread account. RoboForex: ECN and Prime from 0 pips plus a commission per $1 million traded. IC Markets: Raw Spread from 0.0 pips (EUR/USD average 0.1) plus $3.50 per side. For frequent traders, a raw account usually costs less per trade than a spread-only one.

RoboForex lists no inactivity fee. IC Markets lists no inactivity fee. Withdrawal fees: RoboForex: by method (for example Skrill 1%, cards up to 2.6% + $1.30); first withdrawal free on three Tuesdays a month; IC Markets: none from IC Markets.

Platforms and Copy Trading

RoboForex offers MT4, MT5 and R StocksTrader. IC Markets offers MT4, MT5, cTrader and TradingView.

RoboForex’s copy trading: Copy Trading Service (formerly CopyFX), from $100. IC Markets’s copy trading: IC Social, cTrader Copy, ZuluTrade and Signal Start. Copying another trader doesn’t remove risk: you can lose money as fast as trading yourself.

Leverage

RoboForex’s maximum leverage: 1:2000 on Pro and ProCent; 1:500 on ECN; 1:300 on Prime. IC Markets’s: 1:5000 on forex at the global company (tiered by position size); 1:30 in Australia and the EU.

A higher maximum is not an advantage in itself. Leverage multiplies losses as fast as gains, so beginners should use far less than either broker allows.

Which One Should You Choose?

Go with RoboForex if:

  • You want to start from $10, including on a cent account
  • You want thousands of stocks on R StocksTrader
  • You want copy trading and a free VPS for active accounts

Go with IC Markets if:

  • You trade often and want raw spreads
  • You want cTrader or TradingView
  • You want a group with ASIC and CySEC licences

Whichever you choose, test a small withdrawal early, verify your account before you need your money, and risk only what you can afford to lose.
