Facts checked against the Exness Help Center on
FX Recap Awards 2026: #2 overall · Best in South AfricaAd High risk: most retail CFD accounts lose money. We never tell you to trade, so read Exness's disclosures first. Our promise
Exness is built for active traders: no Exness fees to deposit or withdraw, most withdrawals processed automatically, a zero stop out and, on eligible accounts, unlimited leverage. Retail accounts sit with its offshore and African companies, not its FCA or CySEC firms, so check which one you would join.

Two things decide whether you can trade: the broker must accept your country, and your own country's law must allow you to trade with a foreign broker. A broker accepting you does not make it legal where you live, so check both.
Your country
No country found
Exness also excludes other countries; its UK and EU firms take no retail clients.
What traders get
What to watch
Ten parameters, weighted the same way for every broker. The share shows how much each one counts towards the score; the label is what we found for Exness.
A regulator licenses brokers and supervises how they treat clients. Top-tier regulators such as the FCA (UK), ASIC (Australia) and CySEC (EU) set strict rules on client money, leverage and complaints; offshore regulators set lighter ones. Most brokers run several companies, and the one named in your client agreement decides which rules protect you. Negative balance protection means you cannot lose more than the money in your account.
Exness is a group of companies. Which one opens your account depends on where you live, and that decides your regulator, your leverage and your stop out level. Pick your region:
Exness (UK) Ltd is authorised by the FCA (FRN 730729) and Exness (Cy) Ltd by CySEC (178/12), but neither takes retail clients. Exness does not accept retail traders from the UK or the EU.
See FCA-regulated brokers →Exness does not accept residents of the United States or Canada, nor Iran or North Korea.
Exness also holds licences from the FSC in the BVI, the CBCS in Curaçao and Sint Maarten, and the FSC in Belize. Its Mauritius company offers no retail services. Check the company named in your client agreement on the regulator's own register.
Is Exness regulated? Full check →Before you can trade or withdraw, a broker must check who you are. This is called KYC, short for "know your customer". You usually upload a photo ID and a recent bill or bank statement showing your address. Practise on a demo account with virtual money before you deposit real money.
Demo accounts are available for every type except Standard Cent; an MT5 demo starts with $10,000. Inactive real accounts can be archived, with no fee to reactivate.
Step-by-step account guide →The spread is the gap between the buy and sell price, and it is the main cost on accounts without commission. A pip is the fourth decimal on most currency pairs (0.0001); on one standard lot of EUR/USD, 1 pip is worth about $10. Raw and ECN accounts have tighter spreads but add a fixed commission per lot, so always compare the total cost.
Standard, Cent and Pro put the whole cost in the spread. Raw Spread and Zero pair near-zero spreads with a commission per lot, charged on both sides when you open.
| Cost | What Exness charges |
|---|---|
| Commission | None on Standard, Standard Cent or Pro. Raw Spread: up to $3.50 per lot per side. Zero: from $0.05 per lot per side. |
| Deposits and withdrawals | No Exness fee. Your bank or payment provider may charge its own. |
| Inactivity | No fee. Inactive accounts can be archived and reopened free. |
| Overnight swap | Charged at 21:00 GMT in summer and 22:00 in winter, triple on Wednesday for forex and metals. None on energies. |
| Overnight admin fee | Exness may charge a per-lot fee on overnight positions of clients whose trading is not intraday, for example $25 per lot on EUR/USD and $200 on gold. |

One standard lot (100,000 units) opened and closed, using each broker's cheapest published EUR/USD pricing: spread × $10 plus the round-turn commission. "From" spreads are best-case, so live costs at those brokers are usually higher than shown; "average" and "typical" are the brokers' own published averages. Swaps are not included. Sources: each broker's own site, checked between 30 September and 19 October 2026.
A swap is interest you pay or earn when you keep a trade open past the daily rollover, because a currency trade borrows one currency to buy another. Many brokers charge three days on Wednesday to cover the weekend. An Islamic or swap-free account removes this interest, sometimes with a fixed admin fee instead.
| When you pay | At the daily rollover. Forex and metals charge triple on Wednesday (USD/CAD on Thursday); indices, stocks and crypto on Friday. |
|---|---|
| No swap | Energies, and no swaps on Saturday or Sunday. |
| Automatic swap-free | Clients from Muslim-majority countries, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Türkiye, are swap-free on every instrument. |
| Swap-free elsewhere | Applies to a listed set: major pairs, 21 minors, gold, silver, oil, all crypto and all indices. |
| Can be removed | Exness can withdraw swap-free status from clients who hold large positions overnight. |
A standard lot is 100,000 units of currency, a mini lot 10,000 and a micro lot 1,000. A cent account shows your balance in cents, so you can trade very small sizes while you learn. Standard accounts usually cost more in spread; raw accounts cost less in spread but charge commission.

Every account has a 0% stop out (20% in Kenya and Jordan), negative balance protection and a swap-free option. Exness does not offer ECN accounts.
Exness account types compared →Leverage lets you open a bigger position with less money: at 1:100, $100 controls $10,000. It multiplies losses exactly as much as profits. Margin is the money held to keep a trade open; at the margin call level you are warned, and at the stop out level the broker starts closing your trades. Most beginners are safer with low leverage.
*Unlimited needs equity under $5,000 and at least 10 closed orders totalling 5 lots on real accounts, and applies only to major and minor forex pairs plus gold and silver; otherwise the default is 1:2000. Kenya is capped at 1:400. From 15 minutes before to 90 seconds after high-impact news, and around weekends, leverage drops to 1:200 on forex.
How Exness leverage works →MetaTrader 4 (MT4) and MetaTrader 5 (MT5) are the most widely used trading platforms; MT5 is newer, with more markets and tools. cTrader and TradingView are popular for their charts. Expert advisors (EAs) are programs that trade automatically on MetaTrader.
Desktop, web and mobile. Expert advisors run on the desktop version.

Each trading account is tied to one platform. Accounts on the Exness platform cannot run expert advisors.
Exness platforms compared →Most of what brokers offer are CFDs (contracts for difference): you trade the price of gold, an index, a share or a coin without owning it. Spreads differ from market to market and usually widen around big news and when markets open.

Counts come from Exness's South African site and can differ by region. Crypto is not offered to clients in Kenya or Jordan.
Exness spreads by account →Market execution fills your order at the best price available, which can be slightly different from the price you clicked; that difference is called slippage. Scalping means holding trades for seconds or minutes. A VPS is a remote computer that keeps your platform and EAs running when your own computer is off.
| Who you trade with | The Exness company holding your account is your only counterparty. It acts as a market maker, pricing from several independent sources. |
|---|---|
| Execution type | Market execution on most accounts. Pro uses instant execution on most markets, so requotes are possible. |
| Slippage | Limit orders cannot slip against you, and stop orders cannot slip in your favour. |
| Stop levels | None for most clients; they may apply to high-frequency and EA strategies. |
| Expert advisors | Desktop MT4 and MT5 only. |
| Free VPS | For clients meeting balance and volume criteria, on servers near Exness's own in Amsterdam, Dubai, Seoul, Singapore, Miami and Johannesburg. |

Copy trading automatically copies another trader's positions into your account. Their past results do not guarantee future ones, and you pay them through a profit share or a wider spread. Start with a small amount and keep a stop loss.
| Status | Closed. Exness stopped new strategies and investments, and closed every existing one on 25 June 2026. |
|---|---|
| What to use instead | Exness now offers only partner and IB programmes. For copy trading, see our brokers that still run it. |
To stop money laundering, brokers usually send withdrawals back to the card, bank or wallet you deposited from, and only to an account in your own name. You must be verified to withdraw, and your bank or payment provider can add its own time and fees.
Available methods depend on your region and verification status.
Exness withdrawals explained →A deposit bonus is usually trading credit, not cash. It adds margin to your account, but you cannot withdraw it, only the profits you make, and often only after trading a set volume. Read the terms before you accept one.

Exness offers no welcome, deposit or trading bonus. Exness Rewards is a loyalty programme for selected clients: you earn EXD (1 EXD = $1) as a share of your spread costs.

Exness suits active traders who want money to move quickly: no Exness payment fees, most withdrawals processed automatically, a 0% stop out and very high leverage on small balances. The trade-off is protection. Retail clients join its Seychelles, South African, Kenyan or other offshore companies, not the FCA or CySEC firms. There is no bonus and no copy trading, and anyone holding large positions overnight for long periods should read the admin fee rule first.
We never tell you to trade, so read Exness's disclosures first. Our promise
What traders say about Exness in their own words. These ratings are separate from FX Recap's own score of 4.75, which comes from our review.
Traded with Exness?
About two minutes. We read every review before it is published.Exness (UK) Ltd is authorised by the FCA (FRN 730729) but serves business clients only, and Exness does not accept retail traders from the UK.
Yes. Exness has been operating since 2008 and its companies are licensed by the FSA Seychelles (SD025), the FSCA (FSP 51024), the CMA Kenya (162) and other regulators. Retail clients join one of those companies; its FCA and CySEC firms take no retail clients.
Standard and Standard Cent have no fixed minimum: your payment method sets it. Pro, Raw Spread and Zero need a first deposit from $200, depending on your region.
Only if your equity is under $5,000 and you have closed at least 10 orders totalling 5 lots on real accounts. It applies to major and minor forex pairs plus gold and silver. Otherwise the maximum is 1:2000, falling as equity rises.
Exness says more than 98% of withdrawals are processed automatically, and the rest within 24 hours. Your bank or payment provider then needs its own time to credit you.
Exness pays only to accounts in your own name, up to your free margin, and the methods you can use depend on your region and verification status. Most withdrawals are processed automatically and the rest within 24 hours; changing your security settings with a face scan blocks withdrawals for 24 hours.
No. Exness offers no welcome, deposit or trading bonus. Selected clients can join Exness Rewards, a loyalty programme.
Not any more. Exness closed copy trading on 25 June 2026, including all existing strategies and investments.
Exness does not accept residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Iran, North Korea and EU countries, and it also excludes sanctioned countries. If your country is not on its list, the sign-up form gives the final answer; the country check on this page shows yours.
